Starter went out on the way home from Dallas Sunday. I'm picking one up today from O'Reilly's. auto stick. Does anyone know of a place that rebuilds these locally? I would like to see about the one that went out last year ( I had a used one I replaced that with).

Well , my problem may not have been my starter, After last week at the GTG some said that there had to be a wire come off the starter. It acted just like that. I agreed, Jeremy even put the wire on the starter but it still would not crank. Drove it home and the damn thing worked. It worked all week, drove it to work etc . Yesterday after running around in it I parked it in front of the house. Went to move it later and the same thing, it would not crank. I could short out the starter and it worked. So not I've replaced the key switch up in the column. Seems to be working. We will see. :help:

I have fixed starters myself that work just after crossing the power wire with like a screwdriver.there is a brass bar or Copper it gets build up from crossing power all it's life pretty easy fix. Just need a bench and soldering iron..

Same problem followed after putting in a new starter last week. So after checking battery and wires and also jumping it and nothing. That why I went for the ignition switch.. If it comes back it could be a ground? maybe. It would work 9 out of 10 times one after the other then nothing.

Yep... Fixed quite a few by just flipping the copper bar. It's worth a try.
