Forgot to update this before Dubs on the Hill. Anyways, i went to install the new shocks and realized they were not going to work immediately. I was originally told they compressed and opened to 8-12 inches when in reality it was more like 9.5-13 inches. That would've only left me with an inch of compression. Being that this is a common problem with lowered early cars, Vintage warehouse sells a repro of an OG lower shock mount for barndoors, splits, and early porsches. So i ordered a pair of the lower (longer mount for dropped cars) mounts to get more needed travel out of the shocks. PROBLEM SOLVED. Just had to hack off my shock mounts from my axles. So when i get a new gearbox, ill make sure i get axles without the lower mounts.

Yeah, i'm at work. We were sitting on an emergency call for 3 hours starting at 3am....lucky me. Given my tool variety, i think that was the only thing that made it hard. I just used an angle grinder. Took me a little bit but i got it done. Regarding the ride, the oil shocks i replaced had been blown since i boight the car. So adding gas shocks that actually worked drastically improved the ride. I should've done this along time ago.

Nice upgrade! I haven't even considered the shape/dimensions of my shocks, I should probably look into it.

Went out on a limb and messaged a guy who had a deluxe starter button for sale. I asked if he'd swap for a standard black one, as I needed the correct white one. He accepted! I offered to pay shipping both ways and pay him some extra since his was an NOS part, but he said it wasnt necessary. I dont know why I got an awesome deal, but there are still some level-headed people out there. My old button went to his friends standard split and I just received the NOS button in the mail today. Just wanted to share that as it made my day.
