Nope, it's not gonna make it. The brakes need to be redone along with the shift rod, bushing, coupler, etc. the good news is that the engine seems really good. Drove it around the neighborhood, stopped to get gas and the dipstick was the perfect temp, even with no block offs or fresh air tubes. Grabbing the crank pully and yanking on it, seems like the end play is good. Shocks are old but it tracks straight. More rust on the body than I was led to believe, but the rear floor that is always the first to go is solid. Under the back seat all the way to the gas tank is solid, and I was not expecting that.

Honestly, it would have no problem making it except that the brakes are sketchy as f*ck and the wiring is all screwy. I got a pretty bad sinus infection and today a 102 temp. Went to work for a meeting, then went home and slept all day, I'm going to the doc in the morning.

Went to the doc, sinus and eye infection, 101 temp, no workie today or tomorrow, so if I'm up to it, I'll take the brakes apart this afternoon to see what I need, and head to Kermit's tomorrow. The previous owners mechanic skills are questionable at best, so it may have all new parts, he just sucks at the actual installation

well, one brake drum off...It's been that kind of day. all the brake parts on the front right are new. cool. the outer bearing is so tight against the spindle that I had to put the rim back on and beat on the tire with a dead blow to get the drum off. The bearing has a ton of play in it, is that normal? my type 34 there was none between the inner ring, the needle bearings, and the outer ring. this has a bunch. the grease is super old and caked and nasty too. the inside of the drums look like crap, does anyone know who close to me will turn a blind eye and turn them for now? I have no idea the wear limits and they probably wont either... at least all the other brake parts are new.

all installed, no play at all when grabbing the top and bottom of the wheel. just when its all apart the outer bearing has a lot of play and I dont know if thats supposed to be tight by itself.

thanks

Well, I got a lot done this weekend. Went through all the front brakes and bearings. They suck. Still a little work there. Got the lights temporarily working except the headlights. I'll work on that this week but for now I got running lights, brake lights and a liscence plate light so at least I can run it in the daytime till the headlights are sorted out. Took a little drive downtown, pics soon
