Finally got some time to work on the motor.

Image

Cleaned up the stock ex manifold and heat shield, it's hard to tell in that pic but I welded a 3 bolt flange to the end so I don't have to hunt all the weird Honda stuff to mate it to the exhaust.

Image

I finally pulled the valve cover and plugs, looks like this motor has been sitting for a while, there was a little bit of corrosion on a couple of the lobes, it was only on the surface and no pitting so I should be fine. I coated it all in moly grease then put new seals on the VC and stuffed some new plugs in it.

I got a AFCO double pass radiator and a SPAL fan, what a work of art.

I was on call for the three day last weekend, and I decided to do a little work on the Westy.

Pulled the bumpers, wheels, and rear apron.

Image

Two trips in the notch did the trick.

Image

blasted everything, and massaged the bumpers with a hammer, sprayed everything with masterseries primer, then squirted masterseries ag111 white.

Image

Looks like a pile of storm trooper equipment...awesome!

Image

I am a newb painter and the white didn't turn out good at all. didn't stop me from going ahead and squirting the black.

Image

I learned from my mistakes with the white

Image

it's looking a little better

and back to BAMF mode

Having all that done is a huge relief, now I can concentrate on doing the motor swap before the classic.

Looks great Nick. I can't wait to see it after the motor swap.

Thanks guys, it's still an ugly duckling but now is doesn't look like a derelict vehicle.

Mike- it's pretty bad, but if the sun is shining on it then the onlooker will be blinded
