My old "plain wrapper" push rods weren't up to the task before, the tip on one came loose, so I upgraded to some Manton PRs. These should do the trick

Image

Also, apparently some crap was making through my old oil filter, which was a rebuild-able billet filter with a 30-micron mesh. Just to be safe, I upgraded to Jack's new Speed Flow filter, that has an 8-micron replaceable element. See my review here --> viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5608

And lastly, to keep any rogue ferrous metal particles out of the system, I got Jack's new Mag Plate sump cover that has a huge magnet in it. See my review here --> viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5609

My heads are done, cylinders have been re-honed, and I think I have all the parts I need. Now I just need some time in the garage, lol. 2-3 hours a week makes it pretty hard to get much of anything done :P

Got the heads together last weekend, didn't have time to work on it this weekend, too busy w/ mini-Brian...

In Case you're wondering, I left the outer spring off on that one ex valve on purpose for setting up the rocker geometry. No point in pushing against 400+ pounds of spring when figuring out PR length ;)

I set the springs up at about 167# seat and 413# nose, should control the valves pretty well to 8k or more, especially considering the 7mm stems and Ti retainers. We'll see...

I'll post a how-to in the engine section on setting spring pressures... ;)

Hey Dimitris. It's coming along very slowly. My 2.5 year old and work keep me pretty busy, so I usually only manage about 2 hours a week in the garage. Last week I put on the pistons, cylinders, and heads, so it's almost a complete long block. At this rate it's going to be 2015 before I get it back together, lol :P

How's your project coming, and progress?

Yeah, sorry you guys are having such a rough time over there. Keep your car though, you'll be glad you did when the economy turns around
