Got her fired up briefly tonight. Unfortunately, I spent most of the afternoon chasing an electrical gremlin. I finally thought I had it traced to a relay, so I replaced it, but that wasn't it. Turned out to be an in line fuse holder that showed continuity, but apparently couldn't really pass any significant amount of current. By the time I figured that out I just had enough time to light her up briefly before my son needed to go to bed. Yes, its that loud.
So tomorrow I'll get the carbs all synched and take her for a spin. Other than a little tuning, I just need to put the hinges and decklid and the rear wheels on. Hopefull I'll be able to start driving her to work on Monday.

drove her around the neighborhood a little today. Running like crap on the idle circuit, I finally figured out one cylinder is not running on the idle circuit. It seems to resolve once you get on the main circuit. I checked the idle jets, they all look fine, so I guess I need to pull that carb and go through it.
I also found the terminal on the positive side of the battery was split. On top of that, the car has always been hard to start with all that compression, huge valve springs, etc, so I upgraded to an Optima red top. Its got about twice the cranking amps of my old battery, so it starts much better now. I replaced the positive cable too.

When I saw a thread on that linkage setup on thesamba, I called Brian to see what he thought about running it on my 2332! Low and behold he had already ordered one for his 55! Great minds think alike!!!

Got pulled over yesterday "test driving" my car around the neighborhood
Apparently the police got 3 separate calls that someone was "racing around" the neighborhood. :? Well, I may have gotten on it a few times, lol. Luckily the cop was super cool. He let me off with a warning and told me to just keep it under 25 in the neighborhood. At the time, I didn't have the decklid on, and hence no license plate. I'm sure he could have easily written me up a couple tickets for that and various equipment violations. He followed me back to my house and got my plate number. He didnt even mention they were TX plates, and expired at that, lol. I got *really* lucky.
As for the car, I need to go smaller on the idle jets, still running crappy through the progression circuit, and idle mixtures are only out 3/4 to 1 turn. AFR on the progression circuit is like 10:1 right now.
