Been working on some side projects when not travelling for work.

Pulled the fuel injection out of the 'donor' 1960 beetle as it had a vacuum leak and a whistle coming form somewhere. Started matching surfaces. Have the hard to find gaskets on order.

Got curious why the #1 cylinder was 20lbs lower on a compression check than the other cylinders...

Well... there's the culprit. The heads are cracked between the valves. Funny how the one with the worst crack actually held the most pressure.

Was also trying to rebuild the 'new when parked' Brazilian Solex 30pict carb, but the accelerator pump cover disintegrated. I found a german replacement.

From dust to dust. I was shocked at how paper thin this part was.

Started stripping the old paint off my Knock off EMPI 5 spokes. These were originally grey painted wheels, which I polished the spokes, and paint detailed black. They looked great for about a year, but really need some loving. Probably not going to run these on the Oval, but will likely bolt them on the '60.
