1370 miles from my place just West of Austin to the Crowne Plaza in Irvine, CA, host hotel for the Classic. Map app says 21 hrs driving via I-10 there may be a more scenic/enjoyable route too, but this appears to be the most direct. That's 2 1/2 days in a train of fast buses!

Leave now sleep when you get there!

Hmmm... that's not bad at all. I thought it was MUCH further than that. Never actually looked.

650 miles/day is very doable. I've done it several times. It's just a 10-12 hour day rolling 70-ish with quick stops.

You gotta be able to roll 70-80 at will, hour after hour......or you can't play on this trip....right, Troy? 8-)

We need to move all this chatter to a 2014 California Classic R-O-A-D-T-R-I-P thread...

Umm that's a yes!! interweb says I-10 speed limit is 75 so you need to be comfortable rolling at that speed for 2 days solid. In fairness not to scare anyone off, I'll be the first guy to pull over and get elbow deep in repairs if one of our crew has an issue, It's a team effort to get there, but I can't drive 55.....or 60 ........or well 65 is tolerable

Scotty you right this thread got off topic is there a moderator that can clean it up a bit? I will start a new thread later today.

Absolutely. I carry half of an Auto Parts store and most of my tools in the DC just for that reason! :D
