Curiosity got the best of me as I was tired of wondering where the constant squeaking in the rear was coming from. Last few weeks, my car has also been clunking. What i mean is that instead of smoothly rolling from a stand-still as i let off the clutch, it sorta jerks slightly and then takes off as if the gear is slipping in last minute or something. Anyways, i checked the fluid level in the trans and replaced the axle boots. It wasnt until i put the wheel back on that i noticed that i could wiggle the wheel side to side with it secured to the rotor/hub assembly. So i took it back off and checked the other rotor as well and there is play on that side too. Matter of fact, Im pretty sure there would be more play if i took the calipers off....SCARY!!
I have the car in the air and cant break loose the 36mm nut. Looks like i might have to put the tires back on the car and on the ground to keep the rotors from spinning when i try to break them loose.
