Shifter has been rebuilt and greased. No nylon bushings to replace on the shift rod, but I greased below the "M" spring and the hole where it passes through. Rear bushing feels really good, so I didn't mess with it. Just need to install the dust bellows and new shift coupler to the trans.
I also PB Blasted the heat tube and cleared out a bunch of crap. It now moves freely. Maybe I should consider installing heat exchangers and fixing the heat once it's a driver.

Got the drums off. Driver's side was crusty, but came of fairly easily. Passenger side was a bitch. The star adjusters were frozen and the shoes were a cunt hair to far out. I had to bolt up an old rim and beat on it with a 20# sledge hammer. I was finally able to wedge in a couple of pry bars and get it the rest if the way off. It's to damn hot in the garage to work more than a couple of hours at a time. At least I can do 'night time' work and finish the rebuilding.

One of my cooks went to Mexico for a week. $20 scored me a new interior!

OW MY EYES!! :wow:

I actually did something similar on my Panel. However, I did wrap the seat in foam, then used hog ring pliers to attach it to the frame just like real interior covers. It lasted pretty darn good. DID NOT help in the heat though, hah!

I did some more work on the front brakes. I had to fab new star adjuster tabs. I used hose clamps for the material.

Drivers side is plumbed in. I will do the passenger side tomorrow.
I fabbed a new brake push rod. I also managed to break the brake return spring. I have to wait for Wolfsburg West to show up. I will rebuild the pedal assembly while I wait for parts.
