I need to find rear brake drums in order to get this damn truck driving. The cheap Brasilian ones aren't working. Shitty machining on so many different levels. I have a lead on a set in Austin that I am waiting to hear back on. They do make Repop German ones, but they are $160 EACH and then you have to pay for shipping!

.....So I decided to pull the door glass and start rebuilding those while I look for drums.

All the rubber has turned to dust because of baking in the sun for so many years.

I found a set of drums in Kentucky. They will ship Monday. I hope it solves my rear end problems.

So in the meantime .....
I am getting the fog lights wired in. I mounted the switch next to the headlight switch. Nice factory look. I also started to tune the motor. I had to reclock the distributor to install the Tommy rebuilt BR8 (019). Completely brain farted on needing to remove the fuel pump and fuel pump riser. I managed to fuck up the fuel pump and broke the riser inside the case....FML
I wondered why the gear felt spring loaded! Lol!
So, I got a tap and slowly fed it into what was left and using vice grips and the stud as a fulcrum, I pulled the broken piece out. Usually this involves splitting the case to remedy this. I ended up with Bakelite dust in the case, but no chunks. Oil change will clear that up.

A few more wires needed.....

Nice ! You are not the only one who has broken the fuel pump base before. I have broken several over the years, I have never split the case to get it out though just drove em like I stole em, with no issues. I think mostly because of the bakelite material being so soft and easily crumbles.

Where did you get the Bosch 5-pin relay? I've been looking for some locally.
