I did a little test fitting under the hood. Also got a better picture of the flat clear on the tank.

Well I got a lot done today. Painted the inside of the headlight buckets flat grey. Also prepped and taped the backs of the bumpers and bumper brackets they will be flat grey as well.

Finished out the doors. They are now ready for panels.

Also got the T handle on after loosing the bolt.

Now I am at the point that I need to install my taillights. My original fenders were roached out so I scored a good set from a 62, so I had to fill in the holes. I have measured about 20x and I am still scared to drill the holes. So I think I am gonna call it a night and get back on it tomorrow.

Well as usual every single part I have installed has fought me tooth and nail.
It started with the aftermarket turn signal switch from WW.
When you buy one for a beetle all the guts come in a bus housing and you have to switch them over to the beetle housing, well It took me forever to get the two tiny screws started.
I did figure the issue of why they would not start and finally got it mounted. One thing I did not like is that the screws from the bus main housing do not fit the beetle. The head is way to big. So I ended up robbing the screws from an original housing and using them. Well let me say this, the two halves fit together like crap! So I am going to hunt an original housing down and hope the new guts fit into an original one.
I wish I could use original one I have. The two screws that hold the guts in are rusted together solid. I just don't think I am going to be able to extract them without causing damage to the housing.
