Well, I got out & worked on finding the oil leak problem this evening. Turns out it was the oil pressure sending unit needing tightening up. It was not an easy leak to find :x . In the process, I tightened a few nuts and bolts that were in need of some attention. I also discovered a few new problems. I have a small leak in my manifold and can see where my exhaust may need some repair or I need to find a replacement. I may be able to use some JB weld until I can take it off to braze or find a replacement.

Anyhow, I am good to go now  .

I've sorry to say that I've used the JB weld on heater tubes ... helps when you need it !

The good news is that I think I might have both issues taken care of and may not have to use the JB Weld thanks to fellow dLk brothers Ethan & John. . I still have some JB Weld "waiting in the wings" just in case.... :hillbilly:

Have not changed out anything yet Wayne. Looks like the 36hp intake manifold that I got is a later model one. The jacketed part of the manifold is much larger than the jacketed area that is on the 36hp manifold on my engine. I may still be able to use it but not sure.

Got up Saturday morning and was going to drive the 56 to the Demontrond show....but sad to say ....it did not make the wake up call :( . It started to crank over and then acted like the battery went dead. After trying to jump it and then switching batteries from the 66 to the 56, it still would not turn over. Today, I tried replacing the ground strap but that was not the answer. Final conclusion is the starter or solenoid is the source of the problem. I pulled the starter out today and will go from there. There is a local, who rebuilds starters so I may take it to him for further evaluation. I will keep you all posted.

Good thing you got it narrowed down. I haven't seen the '56 in a while!
