Well this is the project. Bought it and paid too much but I wanted a project soon than later and this one has surprisingly little rust. solid floorpans, rust repaired at the underside of the headlights and top corners of the fenders. but not bad. has a horrible home paint job with runs and peeling. plus the PO smeared RTV over all the window seals and door/trunk seals. Not sure WTF is up with that but it looks horrible. I've got to take the windows out anyway to do the headliner and paint so its easily fixable. going to ditch the popouts. Anyways here it is on the trailer before coming home

And here it is after some buffing, lowering the front 2 notches, new calipers, wheel cylinders, hoses, setting the timing correctly, syncing the carbs. drove it for the first time up and down the block yesterday.

That's a solid looking car. Looking forward to seeing the progress on your daily driver.

Looks like an awesome project. Why are you going to ditch the pop-outs?

hutto is basically the sticks outskirts of austin. north next to round rock.

I'm looking to go chromeless but also the PO smeared RTV on all the rubber PITA to clean up. plus almost every one you see at the show has popouts. although the $45 each for non pop outs at my local jyard makes stationary windows seem less attractive. maybe i'll find a yard that just has one there but doesn't really know what it is?
