I put a non-oil filled gauge in and a bigger hose and filter between the tank and the pump and now the pressure doesn't budge! I still need to mess with the jetting a little, but it's running really good now! 8-)

That's good to hear

That's good! Kind of weird how a liquid-filled gauge would be that much off.

I did a lot of searching around on the net, it's a pretty common problem. I guess maybe those oil filled gauges are not made to be in an engine compartment. After I took mine off to put on the non-oil one I noticed it had a rubber plug on the side, I pulled it off and some oil came out. I guess I could have just drained the oil out of it.
Oh well, now I have a spare... :P

Drove her about 30 miles today. She's running really good, but still needs some jetting changes, going a bit lean in the upper RPM's. My oil filter is still leaking, despite my attempts to correct it. It has a design flaw that I can correct with a different O-ring on the top portion :ugeek:

I'm up to about a hundred miles on her, so far so good! Time for an oil change and valve adjustment. I ordered some 180 air correction jets from Kermit today, so hopefully those will do the trick. I may also swap in some 160 mains... 8-)

Sweet! Now all you have left to do is pull the motor and seal those stupid plugs :P

So far so good on the oil filter. I guess I'll have to make sure I keep some of that thread sealant on hand, but I will probably still try to order a slightly thicker O-ring for it and see if that does the trick. 8-)
