lookin nice. Especially like the wheels.

wondering what your doing to address the cooling issues using a T1 motor in the T3?

What cooling issues? You've spent to much time on the samba.

I'm not stuffing a t1 engine into a stock t3 bay. All the sheet metal is getting replaced. The vents above the decklid will be routed into the engine compartment.

Whoa there ace...Looks like you answered the question along with admitting there is some consideration needed for cooling when running a Type 1 engine in a type 3...It was an honest question. I'm not new at this car building thing. Just checking to make sure your not bummed out down the road when you figured out you needed fresh air. i've been there done that with a fasty about 15 years ago...But now that I'm here getting smart ass answers instead of just the scoop it is feeling more like the samba.

I guess I'm guilty of thinking you were being a smart ass when you ask that question. Sorry. Theres so many t3 nazis on the samba that are anti hacking or building custom cars I rarely post over there anymore.

This picture from the first page of the post shows the engine bay sheet metal all removed. If you look in the second picture you can see the firewall that I've built. Made from 22 gauge, I rolled the beads to add strength.

If I can find a semi complete engine to start mocking up the sheet metal I'll get started over winter. If not, it may be spring before it is complete.

I totally understand what your saying about asking questions on the Samba, that is why I just PM 2 or 3 specific people about stuff,I don't ask the question in the forums.

I narrowed the other side of the torsion housing yesterday and would like to wrap up the rear subframe pretty soon.

Anyone in town have a 091 tail shift forsale?

I'm in the process of ordering all the parts to build my own trailing arms. This should be fun...

I've got no problem cutting up T3's or anything else, especially when they're done right, like yours is. I like to say " we are saving them from the restorer"
