I'm starting a motor project. Kostya found a 1915 short block for sale, so the fun begins....... Here are some pictures after splitting the block and changing camshafts. Next step will be a pair of head$ I need to save up for those :help:

Three of the Empi lifters were machined wrong, so we sanded them down on the lathe.

There is a guy named Howard Washington that belongs to the club I used to belong to here in AZ. He wrote a few articles on the lifters and how they are handled. Really what it said is that they throw all the lifters into a bag and ship them like that. That in turn causes nicks on them which then in turn causes lifter bore failure faster. The point that I am trying to make is that be careful with those lifters if they are already out of wack, you dont want to screw up your case and strand yourself on the side of the road somewhere ;)

BTW, the article was awsome in HotVW's and it looks like a good start with your motor.
