I have this red one from a late model but it is really rusty and needs the seal channel replaced. The are pretty different. If you guys dont think I will have trouble running a dog house shroud with the early firewall I'll go for it.

Brian would be able to answer that but I believe he is running a dog house on his.

I know he had to adjust the front piece of tin but I am not sure what he had to do to the rear if anything at all.

like i said, the only interference was a with the doghouse duct. Just one corner of it. All you would need to do is cut a notch in that firewall piece.

I went for the late model. Wolfsburg West sells the firewall channel for $8 per side (half). It should be easy to drill out and replace. I need to find a source for the ghia type c-channel. If I have to hand make something it wont be pretty.

The firewall is finished! I'll start on the rest of the engine bay this weekend.

Its a 40. I'm going to compensate for the 40 horse shrinkage when I build the rest of the sheet metal. The firewall should be the same. Its the width between valve covers that I have to watch for. If anyone has the width between the edges of the cylinder tins on a 1600dp it would help.
