don't quite have the notch yet. just found it last night. now gotta negotiate for it.

I'm about 3 hours from houston. I'll have to buy a set anyhow. Before moving to Texas it was easy. I had a bike shop there. i sold it with most of the tools...now gotta restock my box.

A balance tube will help your performace. The car is timed to the distributor. I think that the timing at 0 on a FI car has more to do with the FI components. I am timed at 7.5ish using 93 octane. I don't have the chokes on my solex's, so I know what you go through.

Well spent the morning trying to get the wipers working. OG wipers did not work but also had the shafts stripped out seriously. I had snagged the whole wiper motor/transmission from a 70 fasty and installed it. It did not work at first. Found I was missing a ground to the case. Problem is the old one did not have a ground either. I could find nothing resembling a ground. bentley shows wire 4 going to ground from the case. Since the case is isolated from ground via the rubber grommets I fashioned a small wire with lugs to jump the bushing. works like a charm after setting home position.

Nice to have wipers since this will be my daily driver.

On another note I have a friend who's step father live's and operates a body shop in Juarez. I've seen his work and it is pretty good. So for body, paint and interior I'm heading down there. Just wondering if there are any pitfalls to crossing the border. My friend says not to trailer the car. They will "tax" me to get it across the border if its on a trailer and then again coming back across. So i will trailer to el paso and then drive across. Any other insights anyone wants to share?

thanks.

not home yet...just made the deal to buy it. gotta make the trip to pick it up. needs quite a bit of work...I'll start a build thread as soon as I get it home. probably several weeks. needs lots of love. So I do need a parts car. something like a 69 and older auto or something crashed. i'd hate to cut up a restore worthy car for my project. Not dissing any auto guys it just seems they are not so sought after so i would not feel bad stealing pans, heater channels, hood, inner doors, rear panels, gas tank...from it. Those are the biggies I need off the top of my head. That project is going to take some time. Going to do a full paint not just the quickie my square is getting. full on weld up every bit of rust and no fiber glass battery tray slopped in...ect.

Finally after ordering the rear window rubber instead of front window rubber(my fault) I now have front window seal. will install the window this weekend.

Now if my YOM license plates will arrive All I need to do is get my horn working for the safety test and I'm on the road!!! funny how the little things can tie you up!
