What kind of sanding disc? Are you using a DA or air sander, electic? Its getting down to metal pretty good.

I use an electric drill with wire wheels and candi has been using an electric orbital sander so far so good but it takes time I have used a cheap D/A on one of the doors but my lil compressor has a time keeping up with it

I've had lots of success with that same set up...
Be warned... eventually the extra weight of that heavy wire will kill the bearings in your grinder.
I went through 3 different grinder before I completely finished a whole body, top and bottom.

And... lots of ruined shirts from the wire grabbing a hold of me and twisting up my shirt into a tangle mess! LOL!

the only problem I see with a heavy duty wire wheel is taking off too much metal
