hmm you should have been able to reach the plates from under the hood. the bottom one is a pita but once you get the tabs bent back it should have slipped out. plus it helps to have a wife thats tiny cuz my hand wont fit down there

Glad to hear that you are making some progress. I bet the car looks different to you since it now has the door off :hillbilly:

Mano I would like to help you with the rag this weekend, however, due to my daughter lazor tag birthday party on Saturday, Sunday will be my only day free. So I hope you will be working on it on Sunday! I want to learn/experience as much as I can on our restorations.

By the way I have two 5 lug rims for you, no tires on them, at the house. They look like 67 slotted rims, I had them on my 61 rag many years ago.

Give a call when you get a chance.

Pics from Mano's work day!

Rough cut on rag!

We have decided the roof is too hammered to weld in a rag section, got a lead on a good ragtop roof with no mech(coming soon)

Moved on to the pan halves.

Nice work on the pans. Damn...that roof likes like a real challenge but I am betting that you are up to making it right!
