Sounds pretty tough! Good job guys! I wish I was there to tune it for you!

Thanks, I wish you were here to tune on it too!! Or just to hear it run. Thanks again for all the info.

Well, I drove it about 30 miles tonight  Running good. I stood on it from a roll in 1st and shifted to 2nd at 5800. Wow, it pulls pretty good WFO. I can't wait to see what else is in it after getting the carbs right.

150 miles on the new motor now. Had some rocker arm trouble. Checked valve geometry tonight after adding lash caps and shimming it. I couldn't get an exact mid-lift on the valves with the motor in the car, but this is very close to it. #3 ex. valve.
From what I understand the pushrod should line up with the pushrod adjuster cup. I think it's right. This is what I ended up with after adding .030 shims.

At half lift you would like the push rod and the adjuster to be aligned axially, ie parallel. At the same time, the rocker should be contacting the lash cap in its middle. Hopefully the lash cap thing solves the problem, sorry if I forgot to tell Kostya you have to run lash caps (until I thought to ask him a couple days ago), it's hard to think of everything like that over the phone with out being there in person...

If I'm at half lift, which I know I'm close, the rocker is contacting the middle of the lash cap while the pushrod is parallel with the adjuster. Thanks again for the help Brian
