Well here we go. I started today by removing the "patch panels" the p/o put on the car to see what i was in for. It doesn't look good, but i think that i am up for the challenge. I think the car is still in salvageable condition. I will keep you guys updated throughout the process.

Here are pics after i removed the pass. heater channel and the patch panels. Sorry for the blurry pics.

Unless you have that car bolted to that wooden frame, before you cut the channel out, you are going to have a good time getting it back together. On another note: you didnt waste any time did you

OK. Here is the deal. I will argue my case against the bracing. I did not want to weld in bracing between the a and b pillars because the gap between the both of the was not the correct width to begin with. I didn't see the point in bracing the car, welding in the heater channels and still having a door opening that is misaligned. In addition to that i have slight tension on the roof of the car courtesy of the wench mounted to the ceiling of my garage which keeps the body from twisting out of shape. I am also doing one side at a time to maintain some structural support.
After i get the a pillar repaired and the fire wall welded in better i will mock up the heater channel, take all the appropriate measurements to ensure that the door opening is correct, tack in the heater channel, test fit the door and then i will weld the heater channel in solid.

Looks like you have control of it then.

On another note, I'm glad you will be doing the car justice, doesnt look like any of the P'O's did
