Well i have made a little more progress. Most of the weekend was spent rearranging the garage and wiring in power for my welding machine. I did get a little work done on the bug. I was able to cut away the rusted lower section of the passengers side a pillar and begin to fit in the replacement piece. I am starting to see how much work this car is going to be, but i think that it is going to be worth it in the end.

Nice progress, keep the progress and pics coming!
Makes sense on the bracing since it wasn't lined up right before...

probly would have been better if ya would have put a brace. ..if the car is twistd it needs to be twisted back on a frame machine...or pulled and bent back from where it was bent in the first place...you cant fix a twisted car by cutting it in the middle....

with this said it will still work you just created more work...no biggy it can always be fixed..

great job and man you have yourself one serious project....it will be worth it in the end..

I have to agree with Billy. I would have tried to "twist" the body back to where it needs to be before any work done. Here is my logic behind it: If you weld it all together with the twist, then try to make it true again, you are going to pull the panels that you just welded apart. Get the body true first then weld in all your patch panels  The work is looking good so far, so keep it up

Thanks for your concerns guys but i think i have it under control. What i am doing is fixing the a pillars and the b pillars then i am going to square the body and weld in the heater channels. After doing that i am going to make sure the body is in its final resting position before i begin to repair the quarters and the inner fender wells. That will ensure that i do not weld in pieces that will keep the car from returning to a square position once bolted to the pan.

On another note the body is only slightly off (about 1 cm at the bottom of the door opening) Its not as if the car has been in a major wreck or been twisted way out of shape.
