Well the clutch cable broke on the way home in Clear Lake last night. I thought something happened at the pedal assembly, so I pulled it but everything was alright there. Tightened the clutch cable a bit, but then it snapped all the way. I used Ethan's method of starting the car in 2nd gear :hillbilly: , and drove it a few miles to Eric's house. He drove us home (thanks Eric! ) and we got my Maxima and the tow bar and brought it home.

Time to figure out where the cable was rubbing :help: . It broke close to the transmission.

Glad you made it home okay. Yeah, starting it in 2nd gear is pretty standard stuff in a VW, I'm surprised they don't have that technique in the owner's manual

Well I ran a new clutch cable today, and put a spare one in my tool box :) .

Next thing on the list is to get the correct wiper motor on it. I have a 6V motor and assembly, but I need to get the seals, etc. for it.

Shaweet a 4" narrowed, adjustable ECF beam. You are one lucky guy, I heard those are real hard to come by. Great looking beam!!!
