Ok, here are some pics of what I have been doing so far. Looking forward to completing the long block assembly this weekend!

Here I am drilling the required hole (13/32") for the 12mm (O.D.) 8mm (I.D.) case savers, by hand! I was so stressed out on the first couple but then I was able to get the 'feel' of it...

Squaring up the tap with one of my recently acquired precision tools; a Starrett combo square...



Tapping...

I used a ratchet closed wrench to turn the tap (carefully) because there was not enough room to use the tap wrench...

Inserting the Case Saver into the recently tapped stud hole...

very nice work but couldnt you just chuck that tap in your dewalt and save yourself all that time with the ratchet wrench?
