Well i got the car running today. I still have some wiring to sort out and need to bolt on the drivers side fenders. Its slowly coming together. I also got rid of the whitewalls so here come the 5 spokes.

Well not much has changed with the bug. I haven't had much spare time. Christmas came early for me this year. A friend of mine gave me a set of Weber 34 ICT's. I will either have to put my other engine in the car or get a set of single port manifolds for them. Either way i'm pretty excited to have them.

I know its blurry but here is a picture of one of my "spare parts shelves" I really need to start getting rid of some of this stuff.

Well I finally got a little time to work on the bug last night. I was able to bolt on the driver's side fenders and running board. I hope to do the floor pans and get the brakes bled this weekend. I really need to get this thing going.

I got the dual webers on the other night. We got it fired up last night. The engine sounds great. Tonight i hope to get the floor pans repaired. It is getting close to being ready.

I got a little work done on the bug this weekend. Most of my time was spent drive between the house and Lowes collecting parts. I was able to get the spring plates notched, got the carbs finished up, mounted the coil, installed a degree, and redid the front end.

The hardest part was figuring out the front end. The through rods were too long so they were rigged so to speak. I had to cut them down and re-tap them in order to make them work correctly. I also replaced the front ball joints. I also replaced the spring plate bushings with urethane bushings, that made the rear a lot smoother going up and down.

After doing all of that i was able to make the rear about 3 inches lower than it was and the front about 1/2 inch lower. The pics of the car is with 185's all the way around. The beam is about 2 inches off the ground and the rear is about 3 to 4 inches off the ground.

I have an idea how to make the front go lower but it is going to involve taking off the beam. The problem is that the air shocks bottom out before the front suspension is fully compressed. There is more travel there but the shock is holding it back.
