The short block...

I installed the piston and cylinders last night, and worked on cleaning the heads; which is turning out to be terribly tedious to get the carbon and oil off!

So far I am concerned at what I have uncovered...

I have discovered a couple of very small cracks around the spark plug opening (chamber side).

I really don't want to spend money on heads for a temporary/standby motor. So I may just run these, as long as there are no other hidden surprises after cleaning.

I also went out and purchased one of these:

So now I won't have to spend a lot on new replacement parts, because I can refinish my own!
