Only issue with the strand as I've tried it the club has to have insurance and you have to talk to the Chamber of Commerce. I talked to them once as I wanted to do a show on Pier 21, but to do it you have to have club insurance and you have to talk to people to block off part of the strand or use the Pier to park the cars. There is a show once a year at Pier 21 in Galveston that is hosted by the Pontiac show of Houston, but their club is pretty big and they have club insurance. As if you break something or do something to the property your insurance will cover it.
Now you can have something on the Sea Wall or at the State park. Or I even thought about having a show for the buggies once over across the ferry on Bolivar as there is an Old Fort over there and they have hook ups and little cabin type things. Not sure how it looks though after the Hurricane.

Additions to the rally this year include the use of Fort Travis Park campground on Bolivar Peninsula, where 88 acres have been prepared for campgrounds and an entertainment venue has been created.

Fort Travis Seashore Park
In addition to a variety of recreational and educational activities, this 60 acre park has a long military and natural history to explore. Dogs are allowed in the park for day use and camping for no additional fee; they must be kept leashed and cleaned up after at all times. Dogs are allowed on the beach. There is tent and cabana camping and picnic areas with cooking facilities available. There are also large grassy areas for sports/games, and a well furnished playground. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground.
This would be the Application to use Fort Travis for large Events:
