Slammerd: I plan on making it real clean and simple, with a decent power to weight ratio.

mk-zero: You know any good deals on a mig and sheet metal... :lol:

Nothing wrong with clean and simple. It follows the KISS rule(Keep It Simple Stupid) and let us not forget about power, can you ever have too much???

I got my mig at Sears as an open box discount, but Harbour Freight carrys them as well(dont know the quality). I would recommend getting one that has a gas shield though(much cleaner welds). I am sure the local boys can help you out a little better.

Yeah, what Slammerd said, definitely get a MIG welder, not a wire-feed flux core unit. You can get a pretty nice setup for around 500 bux.

The grey piece? Yes that is the wiring harness conduit.
