Soooo...no luck finding a motor at the classic, so until I win the one at the Monument show raffle, I thought Id do some work to my current one. I took it out today and stripped it down. I took it to the local car wash and proceeded to wash the hell out of it. (taking care not to get water in it) It was pretty filthy from all of the drips. I brought it home and started to replace some stuff. I found a bent pushrod tube on the #4 exhaust, so I think Ill just replace them all. I replaced the oil cooler seals which had obviously been leaking. I also had a leak from the oil filler. It was really rusted on the inside. The gland nut that held it on was stripped out so my remover tool didn't work. I had to cut the part off that the oil cap goes on to expose the nut and I got that loose with some channel locks. Thats all I got done today. Im gonna order some parts and finish the rest later.... Working on my car is so therapeutic :D 8-) .

Cleaned up some engine tin today. Yesterday I stripped out all the old tar boards in the engine compartment. I'll clean it up nice and good before I put the engine back in. I ordered lots of parts the other day. I have lots of cleaning to do before the get here.

Bought a puller and pulled out the oil pump today. I had intended to just clean it up and redo the gaskets, but When I pulled out the drive gear i found that the tang that goes into the cam was worn badly. So im gonna hunt down a whole new pump tomorrow. Also painted the Alt. stand and installed it. Got a new crank pulley because I think my old one was bent slightly. R&Red the sump plate with a brand new chromie cause the old one was warped. That was the majority of my oil leak so I made damn sure to tighten the nuts in sequence and torque to specs. Im waiting on pushrod tubes to come in the mail and I am wanting to know if I have to take the heads off to change them out? Anyone know about this? Oh and then I found a bottle of Crown stashed away in the garage and productivity ground to a screeching halt.... :?

Installed a new oil pump on Saturday. I went to Kermit's place up off of 59 and got it. He was the only one around who was open on Saturday and had it in stock. A few more pictures of what Ive been doing to the engine. My push rod tubes are due in today so maybe I'll get them done this evening.
