So do I have to take the door completely apart?

Yes, you have to take the door completly apart. Take your door handles off , door panal drop the glass off of the regulator, remove the window felt ( this usualy gets trashed getting it out) there will be some clips that have to be removed and I think two screws. I am not sure about a 69 model but In a 65-66 model you also have to loosen the vent wing as well due to the fact that some of the chrome runs under it and the rubber flops over the top.

Thank you! I take it I should start this project in a place where I can walk away and then come back to it. So should I be prepared to go ahead and replace the felt while I'm at it?

The felt and chrome all look great. The only reason I'm replacing the scrapers is beacuse the driver side outside is all the way down to the metal and when it gets rained on the door is getting water in it. :(

the outer scraper is attached to the chrome it comes as one piece. the felt usualy gets trashed when you go to pull it out. I agree with Chris when I replace the outer scrper I always replace the inner and felt at the same time. the inner scraper is only like 20 bucks and while you are there you might as well change it.
