Took the Clutch,Pressure Plate and Flywheel off today.

Here I have the 6v 200mm on the left and the 12v 200mm on the right.
some have said that when changing from 6v to 12v there is a high step on the crank...meaning you would have to machine out the 12v because of the difference??????

Can't see from the picture, but does your crank have a step in it?

Also you can see the steel gasket is there, because it is the non-o-ring 6v

I just thought the bellhousing needs to be clearanced for the flywheel. Not in your case though Chuck, your rollin a '67 Swing Axel. As far as a diffence in the crank, I don't remember reading anything about that in my hot rodding vw's book. Ask the Dr........

That's right, I forgot about the 12V trans. That still doesn't solve the problem. I just spoke to Chuck, and there may be two options, non O-ring 12V flywheel, or hybrid starter.

Thats preety cool! Never seen that before. Nothing really special about it though. You might be able to get it done locally if you can find a starter specialist who knows how to rewind motors. Can't beat that price though.......
