I know a lot of people ask the comparison for the smart car tires to 135's/145's alot

135's behind my 155/60/15's

not much difference.........

I started with the Porsche center caps I got from FVD http://shop.fvd.de/de/en/Porsche-0/-/-/-/item/item...Crest.html
Image
Then I made a jig out of 2" PVC,drilled hole and riveted the center cap to the PVC..
Image
Then off to the lathe to take about an 1/8th of an inch off....

The first test fit...
Image
Then debadging the cap and sandblasting..
Image
Then filing the edges of the crest...
Image
Then using metal filler, fill up the crest cavity..

Image
Then sand them down and use regular body filler..

More progress soon....

Looks good Chuck. You doing all the work yourself? I already know what these are going to look like and they are going to be pure awsomness.

There is quite a bit of difference with the 145 and the 175/55/15 imo. Here you can just make it out the 175 is just about 1 3/4" smaller and also here is a side by side comparison. As you can see a lot more contact patch for better stopping. Thats why Im going with these on the front of my car. Plus they will fit the 5.5" rims nicely

Eric helped me out,and yes there is about an inch or so difference in the tires for height.......but the best part about the tires is like you said the contact patch..big difference.
