Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Register the car as antique using YOM plate and only one is needed because only one antique plate is issued if you don't use YOM.
I think you just got lucky that the person didnt know the rules. I just called down to the montgomery office (because i only have the one dealer plate for courtney's) they told me that it doesnt matter if you register it as an antique or a classic with YOM plates you have to have both of the plates. If you dont have YOM plates they issue you one plate that says antique on it.
