I am new to the forums and thought I would post some pictures of the new project, I bought it from Gixxer 711 over on the Aircoolers site, the first 4 pics are ones he took before I bought it. I still have a bunch of pics that on film and I have about 20 rolls that need developed.

When I first took it off the pan I put it up like you see, I had to take a few minutes to take some pictures and catch my breath.

as of right now I have most of it sandblasted, coated with corroless, floors are fitted (more or less), and now I just have to buy a new Argon/CO2 bottle so I can finish the floors up (I loaned my welder to someone and the bottle was stolen).

Anyway, that's what I have going on and I will keep this updated as work continues.

to bad you cut the rear brace for the floor pan IMO the aftermarket ones are flimsy. was it rusted bad at the brace?

Yeah, I screwed up on cutting that back brace out, In hindsight I probably could have worked with them but I did not lose a lot by taking them out, when I started sandblasting through in some spots I stopped working and thought about, grabbed a cigarette from my neighbor and even had him look at it, I finally came to the decision to getting rid of them and it is the one decision I am not sure if I made the right call on.

gostros, I have worked my ass of on more then a few cars but when it comes to an old VW It just does not feel like as much work, that is until the next day when I'm popping motrin and can barely move my hands, and it's still not enough to keep me from doing it all over again.
