Not a great day for the 55...
I was driving it to work this morning and was waiting to enter the round-about in Old Town. The sun was in my eyes and I was waiting for an opening in traffic, shielding my eyes with my left hand. When an opening came up, I started to go, thinking that the car in front of me had already gone.... well.... it hadn't! I ran right into the rear of him (Honda Civic), putting a big crease in my hood right at the level of the top of the handle. Didn't do a thing to the Honda's plastic bumper. The guy was cool and didn't want to exchange info since there was no damage to his car, so I turned around and headed home. Spent about 15 minutes on the hood with a rubber mallet and got it to an "acceptable" condition and then drover her to work. I'll pick up a body hammer and dolly set and work it out some more sometime soon.
Ouch! And it was worse than you can really tell in the picture

After 15 minutes with a rubber mallet...

I thought I would have been much more upset about the whole thing, but I really didn't feel very bad about it. The way I see it is, I drive the car nearly every day, something was bound to happen sooner or later, but I would rather have a car that I drive the shit out of and run the risk of it getting banged up than to have a trailer queen that I'm scared to death to drive. So I'll do the body work on the hood, touch up the paint the best I can with what I have (I still have some of the paint I used on my wheels, which is a close match but non-metallic), and keep driving the piss out of her. And making her faster, lol. Maybe in a year or so I'll see if some shop can match my paint really well and then I'll have the exterior of the car re-sprayed.
