I dont think that you ever answered the question on whether the walnut blasting left a film. I would like to know as well :thumbs:

No film that I noticed. However you should not prime over anything without degreasing it first anyway. The walnut shell is not very coarse and took a long time to get to the metal, we switched to filtered sand and cut the time in half. With the "home type" use pressure pots we used there is no way the sand will get the metal hot enough to warp, I could see that happening with a industrial type blaster but not the home version.

We did blast a engine block with the shells and it turned out very nice with a good finish.

I will be honest with you, when I got there tonight I was thinking what in the hell have you done to that car. I looked at it and thought "no way". After being there and seeing it all go back together, I thought damn ya'll are good. Keep up the work. Its gonna be a nice one.
