being 180 out doesn't hurt anything, you just arrange the wires accordingly, which you obviously already did. I grantee you your car isn't the only VW our there running around like that :mrgreen:

How hard would it be to pull the drive gear and position it properly? What are the chances the two shims will fall out?

Its real easy. You gotta pull the fuel pump and its bakelight stand. The shims usually stay in place. I had to custom index the gear so I could run my 050 in the square. The trick is twisting the gear as you pull it out or put it in. Yall can borrow my puller if ya want... Should take more than 10 minutes....unless its Chucks Notch.....That bitch didn't want to seat to save its life!

I agree. Its a simple pull. But I also understand Ryan's reluctance to pulling it right before the Classic.

My timeline for compleating the car will be shot if there is a engine tear down for two shims falling into the case. It will be fine until after the show, the wires just look goofy on the wrong place on the cap.
