Did some digging around on the 55 tonight.. This is going to be a fun car to restore. Looks like all the numbers match and like most everything is there... The battery cover is there and correct, Big Logo Motorola Radio, Semi's, Eggs, etc.. I'm going to order a birth certificate for this car soon.

I'm also curious to know how close this cars build date is to Bian's??

Body Stamping: 743441 Early March
VIN Plate: 1-0837695 Early March
Chassis Stamping: 1-0837695 Early March
Engine Stamping: 1-1009748 Early March
Wheels are all stamped: 3/55 March

Eliot It cant be a March car because in march the chassis numbers started with 847 966 . Which is after your 837 695. Feb the chassis number started 823 604

Yeah, I was looking at that but then the wheels say 3/55 and on the Samba paint page it has 2 sections for 55 and my VIN is on the March section?? This is a weird year. Paint page also states Blue interior like my 3 fold BUT the interior of this car is Red??? It's very obvious that it's the original interior... I'm going to look further into it when I get back to my computer.

yep it is a strange year. But 4 out of the five numbers match up to feb of 55. chassis, body, vin, and engine.
