Thanks for the comments on the Bug.

It's been raining on and off for almost three straight days - so the Bug sits in the garage. :furious:

Rain or shine, I plan on hitting the local college car show this weekend. It's put on by the automotive department. I'll post some photos from the show.

OLEYELLER: Yes, the DLK sticker is still in the back window. You might be able to see it in the photo below. I hope everyone's cool with me keeping the club sticker on the Bug (along with the Texas inspection stickers).

The Bug lived 46 years in Texas, so I give its heritage props were ever I go.

I think leaving the sticker on reflects what great cars DLK turns out and spreads our name...

Yeah, the DLK sticker is a conversation starter - along with the 44idfs. Who knows, perhaps I'll prove worthy enough to start a DLK outpost in Michigan ;)

Well, Michigan is part of the Rust Belt for a reason. There were some VWs closer to home, but the heater channels were a bit swiss cheese.

I've bought a couple cars out of Texas, but this was the first one I pulled home. It was so worth the trip - and gas credit car bills.

I've made a couple of long trips myself.. Congrats again, I really like that car. You have any plans for it?

I was in MI last month for a wedding and saw this place north of Detriot.

Oh, yeah. However, since Michigan is about broke these days, most county road commissions use a sand/salt mix to cut down on costs. Either way the salt eats into your car or the gravel breaks your windshield.
