Well today's car show was washed out - by rain and work. I did sneak over to the show on my lunch break and found this 67 Kombi split window w/ deluxe side trim and sliding sunroof. Info said 1600 with dual carbs (53 hp and 78 torque). I've seen it at other local shows, but couldn't find the owner.

I also found this VW house on a back street not too far from my office. I've seen an older guy driving the Bug around town -pretty clean machine. The bus has the typical Michigan cancer -see why I drove all the way to Texas for my Bug.

Yeah the spilt (the last year :?: ) is pretty sweet; it's slighty slammed. The other is the typical "project" starting point in the Rust Belt.

Tech question regarding the DLK site: Is it possible to post up Flip video on the site? It's a new office toy, so I'm not too familiar with file sizes (it shoots in HD). I'm sure there is a file size limit like photos.

I'm not even sure what a "Flip" video is, so my guess is "no." You can post embedded Youtube videos though...

Yeah, Flip is just the name of the digital recorder. I'm pretty sure I can post to YouTube with it. I'll try to shoot some video of a drive around my town - if the rain ever stops.

I told my third-grader that I'd take her down to the bus stop in style today. It was 40 degrees, so the Bug was a little reluctant to fire and go this morning (kind of like me). The neighbors enjoyed the header/muffler combo at 7:55 a.m.

Of course, weather dude said no rain today - it did. Wipers, I don't need no stinking wipers ... just Rain-X and speed.

Will post some photos from the Auto Jumble Sunday down in the Warehouse District. Might be a few others flying the VW freak flag.

Looks like fun!

Did John tell you about the time driving to the 2009 Texas Classic in a Monsoon?
