After 2 weeks of fighting with my insurance agency and DMV, a week of no insurance on my bug, and a weekend of no insurance on my truck, I finally worked everything out, I'm legit, valid license and insurance on both vehichles as of this morning. One of the most painful 2 weeks of my life. I'm ready to do work getting the car ready for the night show. Havent driven it since Coffee and Cars

brakes need to come back apart, I need to grind off the studs on the inside of the drums, re-do the hold down springs, new shoes on the back. I need to clean up the headlight contacts cause they are pretty dim. I need to play around with the front seat covers, they look like ass, and I need to put the back seat cover on. Swap out to my chrome stock shifter, pound out some dents, re-clear, wet-sand, polish... should be fun, hope we get a couple cool days soon

Ok...

Where can I get a windshield made for my Oval? I think chuck said there is somebody in town that will cut and install

What do yall think about interior now that a lot of yall have actually seen the car now? Stock dark grey? Dark green? I'm leaning towards stock smooth leatherette, and Mekkie blankets when it gets hot out. Of course, I could stick with the black squareweave crap thats in it too, it's comfy and I do have the back seat upholstry I need to put in

And I'm considering adding a rag if I can figure out how to do it without screwing up the awesome roof patina. I think I could hide the sides and back welds under the rails... but what to do about the front. Any welding and grinding will of course screw up the rust...

Motor. I'm on the lookout for a complete 36hp judson kit. complete complete, I don't want to hunt down missing parts that I wont realize I need until I've already bolted the damn thing on. I have one of the big judson players out there looking for me, but he doesnt advise anything on thesamba or ebay currently, worn out and / or overpriced and incomplete.

Failing that, a stroker may be what I need. 1904 or 2007cc, dell 40's and a nice lumpy cam. I'm going to aim for a judson first

oh, and anyone know of a place locally that I can get my 6v generator re-wound to 12v? Or have a Porsche 12v genny? I sold one too cheap right before I bought this car...

Random stuff in the back of my mind for the day, decisions decisions... I did get my new BRM in to replace the one I curbed lol
