Guess I'll have to start a new thread for my winter ride.

Snow Machine?

Yep, it's a 1972 Ski-Doo TNT. It was a $25 POS that's now a fairly clean vintage sled. It's a cheap way to keep sane during the dark days of winter. I'll post up some photos.

FYI: The TNT is also an air-cooled ride; unlike the Bug, it's a 400cc pull-start. ;)

OK, I couldn't bring myself to post snowmobile photos in September. However, I'll start a new thread in the non-VW projects section this winter - probably the only snowmobile on the board 8-)

Took the Bug out today - finally had a break from all the rain after another craptastic weekend. It ran well. The new fuel pressure gauge shows 3 psi, unlike the old gauge that didn't give me a clue. I'd like to dial in the idle a little better, but overall no spits or sputs like last week.

Only one bad thing: The road commission decided that today was the perfect day to patch the road that runs to my house. I drove V...E...R..Y... slow. Not cool :blueguy:

However, I did get a pretty cool phone call today. The local men's magazine does a car feature in their monthly publication and they want to spotlight the Bug. We are shooting for early next week, but I'm not sure what issue the Bug will run in.

I'll make sure to give proper props to John for all his work - and the DLK nation.

Nah, this is the poor man's GQ (or wannabe). It's a local rag here in town, but they do feature some pretty nice cars. I've seen the 1948 Allard featured in this issue - it's an amazing car.

Cool. Thanks for the link - you guys do some real nice work. I'll add these photos to my Bug files.

It won't be a huge spread (three or so pixs) in a future magazine. I work in the newspaper business, so I know only a certain percentage of info gets into any given story/photos. However, I want to give credit where credit is due: John and those involved in the build.
