Nice finds! I went to the Silver Lake Dunes when I went to Michigan a few months ago.

The dune buggy was a bit tempting to drag home - but not at $3,500.

Had you gone to Silver Lake Dunes before? It's a couple hours from my house.

Couple more finds in town today. The two 70s verts were parked 50 yards from each other, but in different lots. The dog riding shotgun in the red Bug was low-key cool.

Just to prove I post photos of my own VW: The Bug is parked in front of West Grand Traverse Bay. It was 74 out on Saturday in mid-October - I'll take it.

The locals have a trite saying: "The view of the Bay is worth twice your pay." The same job downstate Michigan pays about double - and I have the Up North pay stubs to prove it.

It's hard to think that in a month or less I'll be laying-up the Bug for winter. :(

I guess Bella didn't like that I took her down this dirt road today for a fall photo.

I was headed back to work after stopping for his photo and the Bug started with the spits and pops like before. Shit. It was running fine this weekend. I also drove it a little yesterday with no drama.

Today, however, I got about 3 miles down the road and I ran into the spits and pops again. Same thing like last time - still would go but just off; you could hear the spits and pops.

I wheeled back to house and haven't had a chance to get back to garage. I hope to have a chance to dig into the problem tomorrow. Perhaps it's a bit of junk like I cleaned out of one of the idle jet passages 2-3 weeks ago.

Looks like it's pull plugs one at a time to find the guilty party, or pull the carbs and see what's going on. :?

Yeah, this has got me puzzled, but not quite pissed off. Maybe those 44 IDFs don't like October northern Michigan air. :)

I'm guesing I'm not 100 percent right on the tune or about every 2 weeks some bit of crap shakes loose and deposits into the idle jet.
