I'm sorry if this was supposed to be cars only pictures (kind of the point of the thread) but I wanted to show you guys the reason why work sometimes go's slow for me, This is our puppy Ella, I found her at about 12 weeks old (she's 11 months now) she was covered in fleas, red ants (tons of bites), and really malnourished, She was on the side of I-45 in Houston. The deal is she has Panosteitis which is a bone and joint problem (which she will get over) but she has had around the clock care, at some points she could barely walk and the Wife and I had to make sure she got to the vet's 2 or sometime 3 times a week for the past 7 weeks (maybe 8 weeks by now).

Anyway, I like to show her off cause she's my girl (she knows who saved her) and it is hard to be out with the car knowing she is inside suffering.

Good news is that she is getting better, we are taking her to the Vet's on Saturday (it's on Fondren) and then I will be able to stop and get my new Argon/CO2 Cylinder so I can get my damn floor pans welded in already.

it's not just the dog either, We have 7 cats, all of them were leading pitiful lives and probably would not have survived. Let's just say that life in our house is a little odd at times (especially when the weather cools down and they all act like insane 2 year olds)

Oh, I will be getting the pieces I need from Boom Sunday, so even though I will have my cylinder and gas to weld with I will not be able to get the floors in until Sunday or even Monday depending on when I actually get up there and get them.

thanks,
dan

Just wanted to get this bumped up to the top and updated. I wanted to start work on it this past weekend but decided spending time with my Wife was a better choice.

I did however get the pan out yesterday, got my sand blasting stuff out, and actually got some sandblasting done.....Not much to take pictures of but if I get a chance I will get some pics of the mess I have to work with and the mess I have to work around.

Another work day sandblasting. The valves on my sandblasting pot were messed up so I spent some time repairing them and got to blasting.

My friend bought a bowling ally (Emerald Bowl in case you want to go) and had an air compressor in the maintenance shop that someone knocked over while trying to move it. Long story just a bit longer, I had the same air compressor which was not in the best of shape so I gave it to him so he could make one really nice compressor, have a reserve tank, and all the parts left over in case he needed them.

So know I am borrowing another friends compressor until I find suitable replacement.....His compressor is nice but not quite up to the task of continuous sandblasting so I have to keep stopping so it can catch up a bit.

So sandblasting is going to take up a lot of my work days.

Fine dagnabbit!!!! I am heading out in just a few minutes and I will get some pictures taken.

Also, I will find out what media I am using, I just switched to some different stuff that a neighbor gave to me to try out.....Now I'm hooked on the good stuff. I was using some stuff from Northern called "Amber Grit" but from the bags I bought the media was not very uniform in size and I kept having clogging issues or using way too much media.

What you see here is my Mother in Laws old car. Why is pictured here you ask? Well, because she got another car because this thing was falling apart and someone hit it in a parking lot and I am putting it back together and will probably be helping her sell it. Point is.....It takes time away from my other projects.
Image
This is my 1982 Jeep CJ-7. Notice it is a bit fucked up. That's because it is a Jeep and not car, I already put one windshield in it this year and it already needs another.
Image
These next two pictures are the inside of my garage and of course the Beetle. Just empty boxes on the roof waiting for me to get off my butt, post a couple guitars on eBay, and then use them to pack em up and ship em out. I literally just started cleaning my garage up for the first time in years. it's amazing what can be done now that I found a doctor who would listen to me.
Image
Image
The legs on my sandblaster were not adequate for a pot full of sand, one of them broke and this is what I came up with until I get some metal and repair the legs.
Image
Finally.....The pan, anti-climatic isn't it.
Image

I am going to have more pictures and some questions because since pulling my pan out and getting some sandblasting done I have found out that my Brother in Law, Who said he would help (long, long, long story and not getting into to), did a lousy job welding the floor in. so now I have to clean that up as best I can.

I also removed what there was of the front seats covers and I am thinking I might need new front seats, I will take some pictures so you can see what I have to work with, I also got some more sandblasting done.

I am also taking some time each work day to get my garage cleaned and organized so as time progresses I will also be uncovering different parts that I can work on.

Now about the pictures........I take pictures before I start work and that is pretty much it until the next time I work, Once I get dirty the pictures stop and I am working on the car while my wife is working so she is not here to take pictures of me while I am doing stuff (which works out good because I hate having my picture taken)

Thanks for the photo updates!
