what size wire are you using? thin sheetmetal its easier to use 23 wire thats what I used on mine.
but doing pans you should be able to use the standard 35
I gotta go out and check the size on the wire....and is there a certain amount of gas I should be using.
....And my BIL who is always bragging about working at an auto shop, building, and helping building all these bad ass cars... This is the guy who did my pans for me, I was out of town a lot because of health problems with family member and dealing with my own, He said don't worry about that he would put em on and put it in storage. I pull the thing out to clean it and you can really tell they are not great but as I have been sandblasting I have been finding holes where he burned through and tried to fix. And I know he used whatever wire came in the box when I bought it, There was flux core but I also made sure to buy a bottle of gas so he would have it but I don't know what wire they supplied in the box for using with gas.
Also, I am not trying to bad mouth because I do not think I could have done any better, maybe practice with unimportant pieces before attempting on the pans. My issue is welding the re-pop thin metal to an obviously thicker original metal.
Would it be best to ask welding questions here or in the tech section?
