Well... had some of what I thought were starter issues Sunday. Now for whatever reason the car starts fine. Figured I would take a look and check the connections this evening and well one bolt led to another and now my engine is halfway out. I have the rearmost tin off, all the bolts and nuts off, the belt off, and for whatever reason, I cant get the engine to come out. It keeps hanging on the two lower studs sticking out of the transmission. Any ideas? Anyone want to come by tomorrow evening and give me a hand? My only guess is that I dont have the car itself high enough, so I am gonna grab a jack and some taller stands from work tomorrow and give it another try.

But it needs to... it is a greasy mess. I think once i get the engine out, the trans needs to be pulled also as it is even a greasier mess.

Wonder if the lower studs threaded part way out when you backed off the nuts; this would make the studs longer.

You should drill all the spot welds on you rear apron and make it removable for future service!

Well.... came home looked at the situation. Kicked myself hard. Unhooked the throttle cable from the carb, and the motor slid right out. Back to the garage....
