Its a 65 notch that i got last summer, been slowly putting it back together. I fire up the 1600 that came with the notch, it was knocking so I made the plunge to a type 4 GD 2L. Found a complete 2L with all the FI for $200, tore it apart to clean and inspect. 3 cracks in the heads, found a good set of 1.7L and they are going to get bored and valve jobbed hopefully in a couple of days. anyways here's the specs.

2L GD
1.7L heads with upgraded valve train from EMW
Raby 9530 cam and parkerised lifters
early bus heat exchangers with a bugpack header/quite pack
200mm flywheel
new rings/bearings
914 1.8L plenum rest of FI is all stock bus stuff
Megasquirt 1 v3.00 w/ MSextra firmware and Bosch coil drivers
Ford COPs, TPS, VR sensor
GM IAT
walbro 255 lph fuel pump
welded a bung to the fuel tank for the return
ebay 5" trigger wheel
411 air duct
AEM UEGO wideband O2

The theme of this build is reliability on the cheap, i've mostly OEM parts for just about everything. I did splurge a little with the cam and the ignition but the price was right. Everything here can be had for around $2000, if you shop around and have a little luck on your side. A local engine builder thinks i'm retarded for wasting so much money and doing it the difficult way instead of just building a type 3 motor, HA! I think I'm going to be alright, got a lot of good deals and I'm doing as much myself as possible. Everything is going to fit under the engine lid too. I have plenty of experience with fuel injection and tuning.
I could have gotten the stock ecu with the motor but I decided to go with megasquirt. here are some of the beni's I'll get with MS1 in its current configuration:
fully adjustable fueling and ignition
rev limiting
2 step launch control
shift light control, can also be used for overtemp warning and if i hook up a knock sensor it will light up when it knocks.
wasted spark ignition
closed loop fueling
there is a whole lot more, i'm just too lazy to type it all
On to the pics, here's my photo bucket. http://s59.photobucket.com/albums/g296/ ... ch%202010/

The notch has been parked for almost 15 years from what I can tell, has a fresh number matching pan, swing axle and disc's up front. missing most of the interior and it needs some paint and body. priority is to get it running then i'll sort the rest out.

Brian you oval is nasty, I like it. That fuel system is a work of art.

Kostya- FI is where its at. for right now the stock Ljet will do, but I'm thinking about some GSXR ITB's for the next setup, giggity. Your '64 is clean.
