can you put dp heads on a 40hp engine?

It is possible but you have to do some machine work to the head; if memory serves me right, I think you need to grind down the tabs that are on the cooling fin where it would interfer with the cylinder. You may need to clearance the top part of the cylinder as well?

Personally, I would not go through all that trouble with a 40. If you decide to pimp it out, let me know and I will give you an 8 dowelled crank and flywheel for it! :hillbilly:

Jeremys brother just got a dunebuggy that has a 67 40 horse with dual port heads
the engine number is F111 I dont recall all the numbers but the samba says its a 67 40hp

This could very well be a 1300cc sp in which dp heads can fit onto!

A 40hp 1200cc can accept dp heads with mods only!

Bacially, a 1300sp is the same as a 1600sp in dimension! 8-)

Just took a peek at thesamba and hopefully the engine is an FO opposed to F1! :?

A 1300 would be a nice start over a 40!

nah I checked twice its an F1
SteveO said that european engines had dp 40's so maybe thats what it is unless someone modified it at some point
